That’s it: we’re here. The grand mass of consumer electronics has arrived, and despite our many criticisms of the current POTUS on X, we finally arrived safely in Las Vegas without anyone trying to send us back home. Which is fortunate, because we hadn’t booked a return flight, and given the ticket price, we wouldn’t have abandoned Robi1 (our domestic robot at Numerika) there, asking him to swim back. For him, who was looking forward to meeting his chip and steel companions, it would have been another tragedy.
Nevertheless, it was around 4:16 PM when we finally reached the world capital of gambling and dazzling, garish neon lights to head to our hotel room for a well-deserved shower before teleporting ourselves into the valley of wonders: the Consumer Electronic Show where we were sure to be amazed by mountains of innovations, each more « crazy » than the last.
And this year, it’s no exaggeration to say that what attracted us the most were domestic robots, a kind of wheeled crane capable of folding your laundry, doing the dishes, « putting a croissant in the microwave » (sic. Who is lazy enough to need a robot to put a croissant in a microwave? And first of all, who wants to reheat a croissant in a microwave? You really must have no manners to do that), emptying or filling the dishwasher, sweeping in front of your door, vacuuming, cleaning curtains, or setting the table.
Humanity has been waiting for this for so long!
2 centuries of research that led us from Vaucanson’s duck to CLOID, LG’s star robot. What progress! Domestic life will be revolutionized. No more arguments over who empties the dishwasher. No more « laziness » driven by a teenager on the verge of death who is anxiously asked to set the table. No more croissants… no… not microwave croissants, no!
In short, Humanity has never been so close to the Garden of Eden.
All that’s missing are truly autonomous cars, AIs that work in our place, and we’ll finally be there (and also, free unlimited fries in all canteens and restaurants).
So there you have it. This was our first report here in Las Vegas. See you tomorrow for more exciting information.

And if you really want to know more about CLOID, here is its official presentation from the LG website:
LG CLOiD: The revolutionary robot that aims to eliminate household chores
At CES 2026, LG Electronics took a major step in domestic robotics by unveiling the LG CLOiD. This futuristic companion embodies the brand’s « Zero Labor Home » vision, promising to free users from the most time-consuming household tasks thanks to advanced physical artificial intelligence.
An articulated design for real life
The LG CLOiD doesn’t just move around your living room; it interacts with its environment. Its structure consists of a tilting torso mounted on an autonomous rolling base, ensuring stability and safety. The most impressive element lies in its two articulated arms, each possessing seven degrees of freedom, complemented by five-fingered hands capable of fine manipulation. This agility allows it to grasp objects at ground level or at height with near-human precision.
« Physical » intelligence at the heart of the home
What distinguishes the CLOiD is its brain. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies like the Vision Language Model (VLM) and Vision Language Action (VLA), the robot not only understands images but also interprets the intentions behind voice commands. It has been trained on thousands of hours of domestic data to learn how to use home appliances, open doors, or transfer objects from point A to point B.
A true connected butler
Integrated into the ThinQ ecosystem, the CLOiD acts as a mobile hub. At CES, LG demonstrated its capabilities: the robot can prepare breakfast by placing croissants in the oven, start washing cycles, and, most importantly, fold and put away clean laundry. Thanks to its sensors and generative AI, it communicates with « facial expressions » and learns the occupants’ living habits to anticipate their needs.
Towards a chore-free home
By simultaneously launching its own actuator brand, AXIUM, LG ensures technical mastery of the components of its future automatons. With the CLOiD, the ambition is clear: to transform our homes into spaces where AI takes care of arduous work, allowing us to dedicate our time to what truly matters.
